Serenity @ Disneyland

Here are a few highlights for her:

1. Poor thing, she was pissed that we went to Pirate Island and DIDN'T GET ANY TREASURE!!
What the heck?  Those mean Pirates glued all the treasure down!  However, the girls did do their best pirate faces and yelled ARGH for the pictures!

2. Every night she wrote in her journal, just like me.  While she "wrote" she talked to herself about her day!  Incredibly adorable!!!
3. She picked Snow White for her Princess dress and then picked up a sword and shield to protect herself - she doesn't need no stinkin prince!
4. She didn't like all the rides or all the characters (but she loove Max) so I taught her the YMCA dance while Snuffy and Rayna went on rides!  I also made her wave at people in line like she was my puppet and that gave her the giggles!
5. She had an obsession with my camera and wanted her picture taken with all sorts of inanimate objects (why why not the characters LOL) and also wanted to take pictures too!
Here's one of her shots!  She said, "it's hard to get Skyler's face mommy!"  Yup, I agree!
6. At Goofy's kitchen Pinocchio played with her pigtails and she wasn't quite sure what to do about it! LOL
7. Serenity loves Tinkerbell (wonder where she gets that from?) and made us visit her three separate times!
How adorable is this picture??

PS - for those who were guessing - i took 1266 pictures (41 of which were short videos)!

TWOC #9 - Oh Christmas Tree

This is another week of Red Writing's Twelve Weeks of Christmas Blog party. If you want to participate or just see other's entries, just click on the button on my sidebar!

OK, funny story:

We had had an OLD fake Christmas tree (we got it used) for a few years when I heard that if your tree was giving off an odor it meant that the plastic in the tree was breaking down and emitting very harmful chemicals into your home!

So I got totally paranoid and made Snuffy throw away the tree (without checking out the veracity of the statement)! I was pregnant at the time so cut me some slack (pregnancy makes me nuts) LOL!

He asked me if I wanted to pick out a real tree but I just told him to grab one on his way home. I laughed soooo hard when I saw it! It looked EXACTLY like our scrawny old hurtin Charlie Brown tree! What the fudge?

Apparently, having only had fake trees as a kid he thought they looked better when you could see through all the branches right to the walls LOL! He said it shows off the ornaments better! WHATEVER!!!

Get me a bushy full tree!!!! Soooooo, ever after that we cut down our tree! Last year it was so cold we should have dressed for snow.

Lots of complaining so we picked a tree FAST and went off to have the best part - hot chocolate!

Our decorated tree: (only slightly scrawny at the top)

How sweet are these two?

Can't wait to see all you Martha's out there with your absolutely fabulous coordinated trees!

Rayna @ Disneyland

Here are some of her highlights:

1. She went on some of the big kid rides because she was finally tall enough - much to Snuffy's delight!  She went on the Matterhorn and was excited that the "snowman RAWRED at me and had red eyes!"
2.  The Haunted Mansion was "a teensy bit scary," but she went on it again with me because I wanted to see it made over for Christmas!  Brave girl!
3.  She LOVED ALL the characters!  She made friends, chatted and played with them all!  I think she had a 10 minute conversation with Aladdin about all the rides she'd been on (he asked LOL)!
4. She had a blast with Pinocchio at Goofy's Kitchen.  He skipped the girls to their seats, picked her up and ran away with her and tickled her.  She got her revenge though, she snuck up on him and tickled him back and ran away giggling.  He gave chase - very cute!  Wish i knew how to hook up the video here!
5.  In the hotel she came up to me wagging her middle finger at me.  I said, "what's up?"  She said, "this is the finger I poked daddy in the eye with....he told me to come show it to you!"  (then Snuffy cracked up and I cracked up - very funny!)
6.  Quote: "Is that string cheese?"  My reply:  "no baby, that's a tampon"  (needless to say, other ladies in the bathroom were killing themselves laughing!)
7.  When I asked Cruella if Rayna could give her a hug she said, "alright, i'll pretend to enjoy it!"  LOL...and then this is the face she made

Project Life

As most of you know I have been doing Project 365 this year and taking a picture a day to document our everyday lives!  I love this project because i always have pictures with stories to tell but they aren't always "scrapworthy" LOL

This is the title page and the beginning pages of my book, it's almost done!  woot woot!
Last year I missed out on buying the kit *dang* but Becky Higgins was awesome enough to offer some of the elements of the kit in digi format for FREE!  So i downloaded and went to town!  I loved making it my own and figuring out how to duplicate some of her other elements (dymo, you rock!)

Well, now she has a new kit for sale called Project Life which is essential the same thing but with new element colors etcetera!  I urge you to go check it out!  I soooo don't get anything out of promoting her but I have found this to be a phenomenal project so I ordered my new kit today!
Go get one, it's well worth it!!!

PS - this is my second post today (can you tell i'm starting to feel better?)  scroll down to see my fab new bag!!

Disney Couture

I know, you are thinking, "can those two words actually go together?"  The answer is YES!  (and I got the bag to prove it!)

I love love love love my new bag!  I've gone through 4 in the last 5 months (all second hand) so I treated myself to this super cool bag!
Yes, i love my bag, what's wrong with that? LOL

Check out the inside:
Is that the white rabbit?  oh yes it is!
Is that the caterpillar and some magic mushrooms?  oh yes it is!
I bought it at Disney's Vault 28 store.
What is your dream bag?

PS - I want to send a super duper Thank You out to Michelle of Faerie Dust Dreams for sending me this:

Ironic that the girl who is terrified of spiders wins the spiderweb pendant but I love it (as long as there aren't any 8 legged freaks on it, i'm A-OK! LOL!)

You should go check out her blog, she is super talented and has an Etsy shop!

Skyler @ Disneyland

Here are some of her highlights:

1. When one cast member asked me how old she was and I said 11 months he said, "awwww, she still has the warranty on her!" LOL
2. Her favourite ride was Finding Nemo!  She stuck her face in the port hole, chattered, wiggled her legs and pointed at everything - it was the cutest!
3.  She was Cinderella the entire time!  Oh yeah, she figured out how to take off her shoes (previous Robeez wearer was delighted to find that she could) and fling them away!  The cast member at Dumbo made me show her other shoe before he'd give up the one she'd thrown away.  It isn't a glass slipper but it sure made me smile!  Everywhere we went people would say, "she's missing a shoe!"
4.  She was sooo good on the airplane and everywhere else.  Poor thing didn't touch the ground all week, (except at Playhouse Disney) which is hard for a baby learning to walk, but she put on a smile through it all!
5.  I have one arm permanently longer than the other now (the left one, because the right hand was needed to take pics) from carrying her around all the time.
6.  She loved the characters and played with them every chance she got.  Snuffy pointed behind me and I turned around, only to be nose to nose with Pluto (he scared me to death - i totally screamed)!  He'd been playing with Skyler behind me!
7.  Quote:  "Gong, gong!"  My reply:  "that's right baby, it's a gong show around here, now go to sleep!"
8.  She would rather look at the characters than me, but Goofy helped me out! LOL
I'm so glad she had such a good time!

Jammies

Serenity was obsessed with these Jammies. I had to wash them every day so she could wear them again that night. Does anyone else do this?

You can see just how far her obsession went by reading the journalling below.

She is such a character!

I was desperate to find dinosaurs for this page and finally lucked out and found MME Abbey Road on the way to my weekend crop at an LSS. I was about to cut up the jammies LOL!

Do you love jammies?

TWOC #8 - Wreath Party

This is another week of Red Writing's Twelve Weeks of Christmas Blog party. If you want to participate or just see other's entries, just click on the button on my sidebar!

This is the wreath that the girls and I made last year. They kept piling on the tongue depressors and pushing them around so we got an odd shape! I think they liked the painting the best.

This year I was inspired to make my own paper wreath. I'd seen the loopy ones and googled it and found something I liked even better.

You can find the tutorial on how to make them HERE! on the Fancy Pants website

I got impatient with the glue stick step (didn't want to take the time to hold the darn things together until they were glued) so i used mini glue dots. I used the Making Memories new Mistletoe line of paper and Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses buttons! I also added a step and inked the edges of all the petals before I formed them into flowers (that took a LOT of time)

Here's a close up!

I loved how this turned out so much I made 3 more to go elsewhere.

These are time consuming but addicting - they'd make great gifts too!

Can't wait to see all your wreaths!

PS - One lucky follower, who comments on this post, will receive one of these mini wreath ornaments from me! I'll draw the winner next week and put it on that TWOC post!

You can make your own by watching Shalee's video here!

We're Baaaaaaaack!!!

...from Disneyland, that is!!!

We had a FABULOUS time!!!!  This morning I heard the girls talking:

Serenity: "I miss Disneyland so much right now!  I miss the Tiki room where the birds sing and the flowers croon!"
Rayna: "I miss ME at Disneyland right now"
Serenity: "I wish I could see Tinkerbell again"
Rayna: "I want to see Pluto"

....and on and on it went!  Soooo adorable to hear them reminisce already!

Well it is to be a day of LAUNDRY and getting things back in order here!  I will be trying to catch up on all my blogs in the next few days but if I missed one of your posts that you think I should definitely see, let me know and i'll hop on over!

PS - I'll update more about my trip soon too.  Can anyone guess how many pictures I took in 8 days???

Punks

My mom made me this red scarf for Christmas and the girls were soooo fascinated by it!

I thought they looked like little punks! LOL
I got the "Rock On" guitar pick on a necklace at Claire's (i only wanted the chain but kept the charm for its scrapbooking potential) LOL!

The layout was inspired by a page I saw on the Prima site a long time ago called "animals". Very cool since the patterned paper I used is Prima!

In Nana's Shoes

Love these pics of my girls trying on Nana's shoes. Do all little kids love trying on shoes?

My mom has a lift on her shoe that seems to fascinate them.

I used eyelets, ribbon and stitching to make my shoe!

Do you have a fave pair of shoes? Do you mostly wear the same 2 pairs or do you wear lots of different ones?

New 2 the Herd

I saw this LO of Sarah's (Scrapcetera) and I loved the title so I looked for pictures that would work for the LO too!
Sorry for the poor pic quality but it's night time!

I also used lots of fuzzy little animals (zebra, elephants, bird) that Yvonne (Do More With Less) sent me all the way from the Phillipines! Weird and cool to see packaging in a different language! Thanks Yvonne, these worked perfect here!

I also used another of my tissue paper flowers here. Awesome that it was already made - easy peasy!
Last night on the radio they were talking about heirlooms. We own a fully restored 1948 Ford (Snuffy restored it). But i realized that i don't have any 'heirlooms' - how weird is that?

What is the oldest thing that you own?

TWOC #7 - Crafts Again!

This is another week of Red Writing's Twelve Weeks of Christmas Blog party. If you want to participate or just see other's entries, just click on the button on my sidebar!

These are some of the crafts we made with BEADS!
I had major control issues at first because we were going to be giving some of these to their Nana (my mom) so I wanted them done RIGHT! LOL
Then I realized that it was better to let them do it their way - then it would truly be a craft from them and not from me! LOL The crafts got much more fun after that!

I can't wait to see what the rest of you come up with!!!
