O is for "Oh that head!"

I am participating in Alphabe-Thursday.  If you want to join in or just see other participants, click on Jenny's link on my sidebar.

This is a page about how much I worried about the shape of Serenity's head when she was a baby!

You can click on the pictures to make them larger.
What did you worry about with your babies, or fur babies, that now seems funny?

Go fly a kite

Serenity REALLY wanted to fly a kite this day but we hadn't brought hers so she was a bit upset.  A total stranger said that she could try his - how nice!
The funny thing is that the next week she lost hers at the park, just let go and it flew up over the trees and far away! LOL
I made this kite by sandwiching a piece of orange felt between two diamond shaped pieces of patterned paper and then adding the raffia on top.  I also ran the raffia onto the picture so it looked like the kite was coming from it.
Really happy that the nice weather is here again!

What is your fave summer activity?

Park Play

I have decided to try to take the girls to a new park every few days to combat some of our boredom.

Here's one of our fave parks, the girls just love the Christmas tree merry go round.
Skyler loved going round and round and digging in the sawdust!
She even took time to try to tidy up the horse!
Serenity goes for the loop!

Rayna is having a great time!
Love my girlies!

How do you like THIS apple?

***WARNING*** if you are offended by the middle finger, stop reading now LOL!

This picture happened by accident, but totally cracks me up!  Serenity was trying to hold the mirror and the apple and unfortunately/fortunately (depending on your perspective) she chose her middle finger to hold the apple in place!

I just love this apple laser die cut paper, wish i had more of it!

What is your favourite fruit?

Party like it's my BIRTHDAY!!

Hey, It's my BIRTHDAY!!!  I am not naming numbers!  21 forever!!!

See, even Skyler is excited!

(ok, so maybe it was the bubbles)
Don't taste em Rayna - yuck!!!
I'm going with my sister to see the new J.Lo. movie (The Backup Plan) because she rocks!

Then we are going to go for dinner and then out to scrap with our other sister too (she has to work today).

What are you doing this weekend??

N is for No Kitchen

I am participating in Jenny's Alphabe-Thursday.  If you want to join in or just see other participants, click on the link on my sidebar.

This is a short post for me this week because we are all under the weather here!

I saw this notebook in Michaels and just knew I had to have it! LOL

Seriously, could you imagine a house without a kitchen?

Confession: I LOATHE cooking.  It's so boring!  I wish I was rich enough to have someone make all our meals for us!  I would rather clean and do laundry all day than cook.  LOL!

What do you wish you were rich enough to have done for you?

Skyler Angel

This is my little Skyler Angel at Christmas hanging onto the couch before she could even walk.
I attempted my first zipper flower and love how it turned out.  Linda at Craftaholics Anonymous has a great tutorial on how to make them.  Linda had made flowers for shoes, necklace, headbands and bracelettes but I thought they'd be great on a scrapbook page.  She uses hot glue but since I didn't want any burning injuries today I used a needle and thread.
It was hard to find a zipper with silver teeth (they all seemed to have teeth that matched the zipper) but eventually I found a bunch at Walmart!

Weirdly, once I took this picture at an angle I noticed that the flowers look like a Mickey Mouse head!

What's your favourite flower technique?

PS - do you know of any good tutorials for fan flowers because mine turn out too small or just plain freaky?

Nature Walk

I am TERMINALLY BORED these days!  It seems like we have done every craft, activity, outing and fun thing a billion times and the joy has been sucked out of them!

So, even though it was raining, I took the girls on a Nature Walk.  I let them pick up dirty disgusting things like pine cones, sticks, rocks, flowers, weeds, wet leaves, etcetera and jump in all the puddles.
In fact, I encouraged this behaviour!  Poor girls, it took them a bit to get into it.  Serenity kept asking me to wash/wipe her hands.

Rayna wasn't so sure about the puddles.
But they soon got VERY into it.  Rayna even managed to get her shirt wet.  She jumped in puddles so hard the water splashed up under her coat!
Skyler was content to hang in her stroller because she still has a bit of a cold.
Skyler giggled like crazy whenever the girls jumped into the puddles and they were great at running back to entertain her.
Serenity's favourite treasure was a bluebell.  I love that you can see the yellow on her nose from where she sniffed one too many dandilions.
Rayna couldn't decide between the bluebell and her pinecones.
What are some activities you do with your kids?  I could REALLY use some new things to do.

2 Giggling Girls

My two giggling girls in their grown up girl Christmas outfits!  Love how happy they look!
I put black tulle under the big circle and this time I used my staple (thanks for the tip Yvonne)!  It took a lot less time than trying to sew it - woo hoo!
I also used stickles on all the stars for a subtle glimmer!

Do you like stickles or liquid pearls better?

M is for Money

I am participating in Jenny's Alphabe-Thursday.  If you want to play along or just see other participants entries click on the link on my sidebar!  It's fun and there are prizes!

M is for money, which makes the world go round.  For all you Americans out there, it's the last day to get your Taxes in so you know just what i'm talking about!

This is my page for one of the recent circle journals I am participating in.  I had to pick a song (blindly from an envelope) and then represent the song on the page!

I got Pink Floyd's "Money"!

I found the Canadian money (wooo hooo) at the dollar store.  I crumpled it all up and then mod podged it to the page (first time using mod podge).  Then I printed off a $ symbol and covered it with bling - easy peasy, lemon squeezy!
I love how simple this was and how quickly it came together for me!

My money question for you is:  What would you buy first if you won the lottery?

PS - I got lots of compliments on "my" handwriting in my last post so I thought I let you know that it is actually Ali Edwards handwriting turned into a font that I have adopted as my own!  You can download it for FREE Here!

Family Portrait

As some of you may know we have been having a bit of fun with our window writers!  On Serenity's birthday Rayna decided to draw a family portrait and Serenity added a little touch of her own!

That might be a bit hard to see so here are some close ups!
This is Skyler lying down.  Note the tiny bit of hair sticking up!
This is Serenity and Rayna.  Serenity came along and added the hair to herself.
This is Daddy and Mommy!  Note the crazy hair on me (not much different IRL! LOL!)

Here's where things get funny - I overhear:

Serenity: "Who is this?"
Rayna: "Daddy"
Serenity (talking mostly to herself): "He only needs a LITTLE hair"
Me: ROFLMAO!

Snuffy (after hearing about the above conversation): "I'm disowning her!"

Hope you are having a funny day!

Sweet N Sassy

I really love this picture of Serenity that I took at Christmas.  So sweet and innocent (see the teddy bear) but yet so grown up and sassy too!
I used the Making Memories Mistletoe line and I actually stuck stickles on every second white dot on that paper.  Not that you can see it but it does glimmer.
Another tricky thing I did was use this headband that came with Serenity's Christmas outfit.  Serenity hates headbands and I couldn't exchange it so I decided to use it on a scrap page!  It matches exactly!

I'm thinking next year of buying them after Christmas when they reach the discount bin.

Do you buy special Christmas outfits?

L is for List

I am participating in Jenny's Alphabe-Thursday!  If you want to play along or just visit other participants, click on the link on my sidebar!  C'mon, it's fun and you can win prizes!

L is for List, Bucket List that is!  This is one of the circle journal topics that I am doing this year!  I thought the idea of a bucket list was cool, but a bit morbid too LOL!

Here is a close up of my list:
What's on your bucket list?

Dr. Seuss

Oh how I love Dr. Seuss!  So cool that Susan decided to use Dr. Seuss quotes as her circle journal topic!  She did the cutest page of her daughter using the quote "a person's a person no matter how small" from Horton hears a Who!

This is my page: (6x9)

And my journalling:
Do you love Dr. Seuss?  What's your fave book? I love Green Eggs and Ham!

Collections

Happy Easter Everyone!

This is another circle journal page I recently completed!

The only thing I collect is scrapbook stuff.  I used to collect books but when I started scrapping I lived in a small apartment and something had to give.  I gave away my books and started collecting scrap stuff instead.  (I still read, I just get books from the library).

I am lucky enough to have my own scrap room now and this is the shelf where I house the majority of my scrap stuff.

I love to hide most of my stuff away (I don't like a lot of visual clutter) so the black bins are perfect!

What do you collect?

Serenity's Party

Serenity had a great party!

She loved her balloons!
Rayna dressed the guests!
Serenity and Rayna tried to attack me with their puppies! LOL
Serenity showed me how many fingers she is now.
Then Serenity decided to make me take a picture of her puppy face every time I tried to take one of her!
See how funny she thinks she is!
So Rayna decided to give me her bear face.
She also thinks she's pretty funny! And she decides to take it a bit further and shows me...
...her big "Bear" bum!!!  (Potty humor is HUGE around here right now! LOL)
Serenity's kitty cake, even though she had a puppy party!  That's what she picked.
She got all things puppy!
Puppy cards, puzzles, books, stickers....
Puppy jammies...
and puppy shirts too!  She was one happy little girl!
The other thing she got lots of was stickers!  Ohhhh, how she looooves stickers!  This box has 1200 stickers, some you can color, and she and Rayna used them ALL in ONE day!  It took a concerted effort by them both but they did it LOL!

Now I wonder if she will want another puppy party next year (since she had one last year too)!

How are you today?
