Crazed Emu

These pics were taken at a local pumpkin patch. Poor Rayna, she didn't know what to do - I yelled, "runnnnn baby!" LOL

Close up of the story and the rolled paper embelly. I like how it turned out - better if the rolls are different heights and inked, IMO.

This is the Crazed Emu just before he bit her! I used my paper crimper on the leaves again because I really love the effect. Loving using a tool I haven't used for awhile.

We'll go back to this patch again but never near the Emu!

Shock and Awwwww!

Yesterday was one of my most unproductive crops EVER - 12 hours, 3 pages! LOL But I did partake in food, make 'n takes and loads of chat! This is one of the layouts I created. I thought I had enough time for the liquid pearls to dry but it was still wet when the crop was over so I had it on my lap on the ride home. Has this ever happened to you?

I love how Skyler looks so shocked (probably by the flash) but still so cute!

Yo Ho Yo Ho....

...a pirate's life for me! The girls totally got into being pirates at Michaels! Lots of ARGH and swinging of swords! Love that they close one eye too LOL!

Check out Skyler, pulling herself up now! She says, "whatever it is, i didn't do it - i got a BUM WRAP!"

Going to an all day crop today so should have some scrappy goodness to show you tomorrow.
PS - that CT scan showed that I have a kidney stone and am going to have to go for shock wave therapy - whatever that is!

Snille chair..

Things that are better in theory than in practice (including but not limited to...)

1. convertibles (seriously, it's loud with all that wind whipping around you and you get totally messed up hair - and some jerk kid could throw a milkshake in it while it is parked)
2. taking your four year old to paint ceramics (she gets bored after the first coat and makes you do the next 2 - all the while asking you to hurry up and can we get something to eat and she's bored....)
Things that are underrated:
1. the packaging that any gift comes in - tissue paper, bags, boxes, etcetera are sometimes more exciting to the kid than the actual gift!
2. disposable diapers - seriously, they are the BEST!!!
3. sleep - blessed sleep!
4. shopping at IKEA - hey, you can ride a cart, run on a premarked and arrowed pathway, try out beds and get a cinnamon bun at the end.
Anything you find under/overrated?

Phew....

All before 1 pm -

1. Drive through the bank (and bless the dude who thought of that)
2. Gymnastics class
3. bank visit (we call it the boring bank)
4. Build-a-bear to get princess kitty fixed (falling apart at the seam)
5. Lunch (yes it was early but I forgot to pack a snack - my bad)!
6. Superstore to pick up pictures and get the girls a cookie (yeah, free dessert). notice that their coloring books (that Serenity is begging for) are $5.99 - are they serious????
7. Michael's to get $1.50 coloring books (hello kitty) and 2 bottles of glow in the dark paint for our milk jug skeletons (before they sell out)
8. Library to drop off, pick up and get ribbons for reading all summer (and they threw in playdoh for giggles)

Can I fall down and die now????LOL  NOPE - because I still have to:

- boil water for Skyler's bottles
- dream up something for dinner (I loathe cooking)
- bath the girls
- clean the kitchen
- do some laundry....etcetera... (hence, my pic of the day)

Weirdly, I am feeling SUPER grateful to be a SAHM today! Loving my girls (who didn't act like complete orangutans while we were out today) and that i get to be with them every day! What are you grateful for today?

Wild Mob

Sometimes as the day progresses I feel like i'm trying to tame wild beasts! I actually call them my mini-beasts LOL! With this movie coming out I was inspired to use it as a title for this LO.

I was inspired by Yvonne to use 3's as E's! I added liquid pearls and pop dots to all the monsters and made the gears into another monster with googly eyes!

Skyler is getting her second tooth and has decided to use them..............on ME! I got her up this morning and she totally tried to take a chunk out of my shoulder! Oh yeah, her mob name is now 'Skyler Two Teeth' !!!

What's your mob name? Mine's Carrie the Carver LOL!!

Before i was BORiNg

This page has more white space here than I usually use but I love this little glimpse into Serenity's world. She really wants to know if things happened before or after she was born.

I just love how the ribbon bow looks like it is in her hair!
These are our summer shoes. What cutie little feet my girls have! Do you ever go barefoot?

Random

Ok, for a totally fun and random thing to do I clicked on "next blog" after mine and I keep getting something new but always in another language LOL! Try it on your own blog. It's kind of like Googling yourself (ps - google your first name with the word "wants" and let the fun begin LOL).

So this is my Random page about Rayna's Beauty Mark!

The circles took tons of time to punch, distress, ink, curl and attach with a brad but I loooove how it turned out!
The girls love the new swing set!

Whooo?

This is an older pic of Rayna that never fails to make me smile. She is so enthusiastic and full of life!

I cut out the owl, gave it brad eyes, liquid pearls for the feathers and flowers and added little white flowers to the branches. Then i pop dotted the whole thing for dimension. Love this owl!

Picture of the day is a doozy today! Panties. More specifically - big girl panties! We let Rayna choose them and she loves em! Very few accidents - wooo hoooo!

Elvis

Want a good giggle? Check out this face!

Lots of stuff on this page but I love how the burlap flowers mixed with the felt ones really give it texture!
"Elvis" is growing like a weed so I had to sort through her sisters old clothes and that took a few hours! Think she has enough? The only problem is that each girl was born in a different season so she might have a lot of clothes that aren't appropriate when she is able to fit them! C'est la vie!
What was the last clothing item you bought?

Oh.The.Drama.

I don't know what it is when we visit with Larry & Aleta. They must be cursed because every time we see them lately someone ends up at the hospital! This time it was Serenity! Her first E.R. visit (and hopefully her last)! She tripped and fell and slashed open her chin on the wooden step! There was blood and panic and people running everywhere to help but we got it under control and took her to the hospital (good thing they only live 3 minutes away). When we got there she said, "I wish Rayna got hurt and not me!" LOL  She cried a lot and when the freezing went on she said, "it's too cold, it's too cold, it's too cold, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz." Yup, she exhausted herself and fell asleep! Poor Muffin!

She was very brave and stayed still while the Doctor cleaned her up and stitched her closed. Five stitches total!

WARNING: GRAPHIC PICTURE BELOW! This will be my pic of the day!

PS - yes, she is wearing my shades because the light bothered her eyes! How many ER visits have you had?

Buttons

This is one of the photos I took of Skyler at 6 months old. I looove these pics and will probably scrap lots of them!

My other latest obsession is OWLS! Aren't they the cutest? But.....I was starting to collect them and not use them so the next few LO's i'm gonna use em! I put circular pop dots behind his eyes and cut a long strip to go under the branch so he'd be popped up but you wouldn't see how.

More owls in the strip on the bottom and liquid pearls for eyes!

The buttons totally dress up this LO and I got three bags of them for 40% off each! I could only get two bags in my pic of the day though! LOL

What is your latest scrapbooking obsession?

Quiet...

I'm gonna EATCHA! LOL - love this saying of Serenity's and HAD to do a page about it so I never forget!

I cut out the leaves, inked them and rolled them through the crimper before attaching them to the page with stitches and popdots to give them dimension.

Blurb

I went to see Julie & Julia last week and it got me thinking about publishing my blog as a book (just for me - not for the public). I'd seen a comment in CK that said that this woman was going to do it too and so I emailed CK to ask them where someone might do that and they sent me this link: to Blurb. This looks super easy (I watched the video), highly customizable and you can include your comments if you want to too! I am definitely going to do this on my Blog-a-versary! How cool to have a year's worth of blog in a nice hard cover book!

My pic of the day is the last three movies I've seen. IMO The Proposal was the best of the three. Betty White was killer funny in an unexpected way and Sandra Bullock rocked it! Ryan Reynolds without his shirt didn't hurt either ;)
Have you seen any good movies lately?

CT

Check out my pic of the day - how cool is that???

It asked me to hold my breath, whirled around me and had a very soothing voice! There was even a light box ceiling with clouds and a cherry blossom tree. Very cool in the scientific sense!

Fifteen

Ok, you have to look closely now - that smile might deceive you! This is where the first tooth is starting to poke through and it's what's making my usually soooo happy girl just miserable! Turns out, there is another one making a break for it too! Poor little thing!

I've been tagged by Lola! She is fabulous and outrageous and a total fashionista - check her out!
The tag's very casual! Just basically to write 15 (or however many you want!) things about yourself! So here goes:

1. I hate having anyone touch my feet - no pedicures for me!
2. Apart from my house and car, the most expensive thing i've ever bought was my Wedding Dress.
3. I'm afraid of those dolls with googly eyes that roll back in their head when you lie them down. They're creepy and if you buy one for my girls it's definitely going to charity!
4. Lately, every time I meet someone new they have the name of someone I already know!
5. All my kids names (first and middle) have the letter Y in them.
6. I have three University degrees, one with honors!
7. One of my favourite songs is Love Shack - even if it is quite cheesy.
8. The most FUN job I ever had was working in a mail room for a summer!
9. I once helped my sister avoid a Repo man by driving to Harrison Hot Springs to hide her car! (We were going to drive to Kelowna but didn't have the money for the toll road LOL)
10. If I were a character on Sesame Street, I'd be The Count! Muwahhahahaha
11. I've had laser eye surgery.
12. I could totally live a Zen existence. (as long as I could hide my scrapbook stuff in closets)
13. My DH is an Xman/mutant (he has two spleens) LOL
14. I know how to make my own fancy schmancy soap.
15. I was once flung from 158 feet!

PS. I smell a scrapbook page here!

By the Numbers

This was done for a circle journal that I am a part of. Karen wanted to see what a typical day is like and this is my interpretation of that request (with NO buttons - she is phobic).

While it looks like one gigantic page (sorry about the dark, it's night time) is actually two separate but mirror image pages. I wanted to make the most use of the Fancy Pants Kraft Kuts paper so I split it into quarters.

When doing circle journal entries for other people's journals I make a near identical page for myself at the same time. That way I have pages about myself on topics I might not necessarily have chosen to scrap. My journal this round is "If I Ruled the World". I'll have to post it when I get it back. If I ruled the World my title would be "Queen of the Universe" because why should I just limit myself to Earth? LOL What would your title be?

My picture of the day is my newest little Jolly Jumper. Skyler loves this and giggles while she bounces!

Murmel

This is a card i made today for Patti, who is soon to move into her new home! She has now got lots more room and a great layout (living areas downstairs and all bedrooms upstairs). I really hope this move is smooth and they settle in quickly! I love how earthy the card turned out with the use of the cork - which I bought a sheet of for $1 at the local dollar store.

On a similar note, Michelle gave my girls this tent from IKEA that her boys used to play in. It's name is Murmel, which might be Swedish for tent LOL! They LOOOOVE it and keep asking if they can sleep in it.

Visitors...

Isn't it cool to have unexpected visitors? My brother and his wife came by tonight and played with the girls until their bedtime. There was chase, hide and seek, and blueberry feeding (Rayna wanted to hand feed everyone). So glad when they come to play!

This is a LO of our yearly visit to the blueberry farm.

Loving the use of the tear drop punch for leaves - very easy to do!

Does anyone else pick their own summer fruit?

....more beach, more fancy pants paper, more paper pleating, more of the people and things I love :)

Serenity is another wild woman at the beach! She really loved creating pyramids (castles are a little too advanced at this age) and then running and jumping on top of them to crush them! Destructive streak in her LOL!
This time with my paper pleating I tried keeping them down with tacky tape and ribbon/rickrack. I like the look. I also tried rolling a bit of paper but think next time i'll vary the height of each roll and ink them.

My picture of the day is "Sleeping Cutie!" Skyler is sooooo adorable when she sleeps, don't ya think?

At the Beach...

...last year! Rayna was a wild woman at the beach! She ran into the water as soon as we arrived, didn't even wait for the bathing suit! Luckily I was prepared with extra outfits.

This year, for some reason, she was all about picking up the sand and flinging it at people (at least she got over wanting to eat it LOL). She is a crazy kid!

I used an uber old rub-on for the title and outlined it with white gel pen (thanks for the suggestion Hayley).  I used my threading water punch to create the red strip (use 3/4 inch paper and line it up when you flip it over - takes practice but it works).

It was a cool enough morning for long sleeves so the girls wanted to wear their new superhero shirts! They don't look thrilled to be having their pic taken but they loved being "Super Bat Girl" and "Super Serenity". Wouldn't it be great if everyone had "Super" as their title instead of Mr. or Mrs.?

Super Woman!

I was Super Woman! The first cool day and I cleaned the ENTIRE house! (windows included) It took all day but I was able to recruit two small helpers so it was actually pretty fun too! We played: mommy is going to suck up your toes with the vacuum, see how fast you can run to put this in the garbage, throw the dirty laundry down the stairs and marching trumpeteers (with the empty paper towel rolls). Hence, my picture of the day!

Loving buttons and kraft paper these days and both worked really well with my beach bums page!

I actually got quite a few pics on this LO too - one more reason to call myself Super Woman today LOL!
