Ducks in a Row

I love this little quirk of Rayna's.  Doesn't she look like the proud mama duck?

One thing I noticed lately is that I hadn't been using any of my flower stash.  I have been too busy creating my own flowers or cutting them from patterned paper so I decided to make it easy on myself and use ones that I already had.
And for those of you with a keen eye, yes, I do know that these are Chickens and not Ducks!  It works anyway! LOL Which one of your supplies have you been neglecting?

Nature Walk

I really love that the girls like to go out and play even without any toys!  We splashed and gathered flowers and rocks and had the best time!
I used a tree template that I had made from some Maya Road chipboard trees to make these clouds.  Traced them, turned them on their side and cut them in 1/2!  Easy Peasy! I used only one sheet of the green paper to create my border and used another template i'd previously made for the cloudy shape. I make templates from everything so I can use them again later.  I trace onto the cardboard that comes with page protectors and on cereal boxes (thinner are better).  Then I have the fancy shapes for free!
I didn't have a raindrop punch but realized that quotation marks looked like rain to me so I used them instead! I also had to create some of my letters for my title.  The funniest one is the K I made from an H.  Gotta get the most use out of those thickers! What do you do to save money on scrap supplies or to make them stretch?

W is for Wild Child

I am participating in Jenny's Alphabe-Thursday. W is for my Wild Child!  I bought this little onesie at a scrap store and it came with the mini-onesie you see on the page!  How cute is that?

This isn't the best picture but it was the best of the bunch!  I don't worry about that so much as long as I have something to represent the story!
I love how this ribbon turned out.  Originally I was going to layer two ribbons but when this one stood up I liked it too much to mess with it! What are you Wild about?

Baby's Got Back

I used a song title for my title because it seemed oh so appropriate! LOL

Little girls can be so silly sometimes!
I am loving pleating my ribbons these days.  Little tape and some patience and voila!  When you put them under the page protector they still have dimension too!  Did you notice that my A is actually an @ symbol with the circle cut off?
Cutting out flowers and popping them up is an easy and inexpensive way that I add dimension to my pages. What do you do to add dimension?

Daddy Has to Buy a Gun

Happy Fathers Day Everyone!  I just had to show this page with a quote I overheard Snuffy say to Skyler!

Totally made me laugh and made me think about how much we worry about our kids.
Love that Skyler wants to wear the tutu around the house these days!

Teddy Bear "Pignic"

We went to the Teddy Bear "Pignic" according to my girls!  We watched a bit of the parade and then ducked out early to get into the fair.  Skyler was thrilled to bring her puppy outside!
The doctor gave Rayna's puppy a checkup!
These are the tools - the puppy got a shot and a bandaid!
Skyler loved watching her puppy get it's checkup.  When she got it back she gave it a hug and then checked out its bandaid.
Serenity loved flinging the skeletons and getting the lollipop prize.  There were lots of these skill tests - yum!
The girls got to meet the BIG puppy!

Rayna got the swing of golfing.
All the girls love playing with the toys.
Skyler tried to run away with the hula hoop.
Rayna threw a great shot at the kung fu men.
The girls loved the hippity hops and smashing into one another.
Even when they crashed they giggled like crazy!
When we got home the girls decided that they would prefer it if I wore the temporary tattoos.  Last year we couldn't get them off FOREVER and it seems that they didn't forget! LOL  So check out my new ink!
Do you have any tattoos?

V is for Vampire

I am participating in Alphabe-Thursday over on Jenny's blog.  As some of you already know, my Skyler is a little Vampire!  She is so with the times LOL! She loves to bite necks and has even drawn mommy's blood!  EEEEK!  So I thought I'd do a page about it!

Look at that deceptively innocent face!
I love cutting out flowers and popping them up!
Are you into the Twilight series?  Do you read any other vampire books - if so, let me know the author's name, i'm always looking for new books to read!

What's Up?

1. Funny Photos:  The girls got a really close look at their new little toys LOL!
2. True Story:  We were at Walmart the other day and completely unprovoked Serenity points at me and says (at the top of her lungs):  "That lady is NOT my Mommy, she is the Devil Woman!"

Me (ROFLMAO): "Sorry kid, this Devil Woman IS your Mommy!"

3.  Misinterpretation:  Skyler and Serenity are competing for my attention by GENTLY putting their hands on my face and pushing it back and forth.  Mucho giggling causes Rayna to look over from where she is playing and I guess it looked like a fun game of SMACK-MAMA-ACROSS-THE-FACE-AS-HARD-AS-YOU-CAN because she ran right over and that is what she did!  WHACK!  (this is only funny about 20 minutes later) LOL What's up with you?

1 year Blogoversary!

Today is my one year Blogoversary!  Woo HOO! I can honestly say that my first blog post was BORING! LOL  All it said was "under construction.....pls stand by".  My second post was much more interesting and features a rare sighting of me!  (click here to see it)

I had TONS of help from my Techno-savy friend Hayley (go visit her blog, she rocks it)! I even called her "Tech Support" for awhile!

It took awhile to learn Blogging Etiquette (what, you mean I'm supposed to comment back to people who comment to me??? LOL) but it has been a hoot!  I've 'met' loads of fun, creative ladies (and a few dudes have stopped by as well - including Tim Holtz - you can see that post HERE)!

I started the blog to share my scrappy pages with my friends and post pictures of my girls for my mom (she lives far away).  Now I want to have a year of blogging made into a book.  (which I posted about HERE). Once I do it I'll let you know how hard/easy it was etcetera! Now for some scrappiness:

I love these cutie pictures of Serenity and Rayna in our cheap little pool!  I love owls and included one here even though he has nothing to do with swimming LOL (he is a good color combo though).
I had fun doodling on this page and I used the puffy dots from my Thickers to enhance my 'rainbow'.
I love making clusters of embellies.  Oops, that star tag is upside down! What is your fave part of blogging?  Have you met any bloggy buddies IRL?

Matching

These are the outfits that started it all!

Now the girls love to dress alike and Serenity likes to choose outfits for Skyler that match too!
I made some great lollipop flowers and the layered butterflies.  Love that Martha Stewart Butterflies punch! I like the kids to match but I never try to match my kids - i think that just looks weird LOL! Did you ever get dressed to match your siblings?

U is for ..How old R U?

I am participating in Jenny's Alphabe-Thursday.  U is for ........How old R U Rayna?
Every year I try to get the girls to show me how old they are by showing me how many fingers they are.
Poor Rayna, she just wanted to eat her cake! LOL Do you have any annual birthday picture traditions?

The Cape

If you read my last post you would know that I tried to do this page with bright colors but didn't end up using them.  I love the pink and black soooo much better!
My sweet Serenity loved her Pooh Bear costume so much she wore it into January of the following year (and then I hid it LOL)
I let my kids wear their Halloween costumes anytime they want, do you?  I'll even let them wear them out of the house - it's cute!

Bee You

I started out with this black and white picture of Serenity but didn't like the look of it.  It just seemed wrong.  (and here I thought black and white photos go with any paper!)

So I looked through my stash of pictures and found this picture of Rayna at Serenity's Bee birthday party!  Sooo much better!
Yes, those are hand stitched squares - took me about an hour so I wasn't gonna waste em! LOL Do you like to wear hats?

T is for These Precious Hands

I am participating in Jenny's Alphabe-Thursday.  I love this close up shot of Rayna's little chubby baby hands!

She looooved picking up the rocks and throwing them in the air.  Invariably she'd end up with them in her hair, shoes and pockets! LOL

Say What???

All kids say words that only their parents can understand.  I thought I'd document a few of Rayna's.

I loved the idea of using a crossword puzzle to make my title.
These are a few of her words - can you guess any of them?  Click on the picture to make it larger! My fave is #9 LOL!
