Got Milk?

Happy Halloween! OK, so I had one more Halloween LO in me! Love the milk jug skeletons! If you want to see how to make one yourself I did a tutorial that you can see HERE!
The paper piecing was in Scrapbooks Etc. and on their website.

I was over at Jocelyn's blog and saw how she asked Evan to make the same face as the punkin and HAD to do it too! Check out these faces LOL!

Skyler couldn't resist trying to grab a punkin! She totally cried and freaked out when we lit them up though! Poor thing!

Hope you get lots of candy today!

You Kandoo It!

I love these potty training pics of Serenity! She was so thrilled to be going like a big girl!

Serenity needed to get big girl panties for her and her monkey. She was thrilled when she got her own toilet paper and soap!
I used paper rolling because I loved the idea that it looked reminiscent of toilet paper rolls LOL! She now proudly proclaims herself "DIAPER FREE"!!! 1 down, 2 to go LOL!

We got our bangs cut, aren't we cute?

TWOC #4 - Apples??

This is my post for Week 4 of Red Writing's Twelve Weeks of Christmas Blog Party.

I don't like turkey **GASP** so usually every year my mom makes some ham, just for me (and then everyone else eats it - hey!).

I don't bake (i burn) so I have no baking recipes LOL! Gee, I bet no one wants to come to my house for Christmas dinner! That's good, because I'll be at my moms! LOL So instead I thought I'd share a scrappy page about apples (i know, it's a stretch - i'm trying here!) It's called - The apple doesn't fall very far from the tree!

The Maya Road chipboard people came with one dad, a mom, a girl and a boy! Since that isn't our family makeup what is a girl to do? Well, I made 3 dads by tearing the dad into 3 pieces. Made 2 girls by tearing the girl into 2 pieces and made the boy into a girl by putting him in a dress LOL! (I kept the mom for another LO)

I made 3 identical pages (except for the pic) because each of the girls look like Snuffy in their own way - esp in the blue blue eyes!!!

I also traces the chipboard trees onto chipboard to keep them as templates. I do this with patterned paper that comes in cool shapes too. I have even bought paper I wasn't that fond of just for the shape LOL! I can't wait to see what yummy dishes you all come up with!

Crop for Kids Weekend

My first ever scrapping weekend away was AWESOME! It started out with a giggle when Hayley and I couldn't find "the rich people Safeway" and just got better and better from there! LOL A bunch of us met for dinner and some had a few of these caramel apple martinis to start the weekend off with a bang!

Then we got right to scrapping! There were very cool goodie bags - especially one made by my girls Hayley and Kathy - chocolate was included!!! There were moments of Zen with Hayley and massive giggle fits at 2AM with Hayley and Diane! It was like one gigantic sleepover for 12 year old girls (except none of us are 12 years old any more)!

There was a Hawaiian themed party and some ladies went all out! There was the group that dressed up like Magnum PI (hilariously with very full mustaches) and another that dressed up like the entire cast of Gilligan's Island. They even made up a song about scrapbooking to the tune of the theme song! Very cool that everyone participated in this party! One of the best things was that all this last year my scrapping group, the Scrapaholics, raised money for this event and we were able to present a cheque to the Children's Hospital of $1000!!!!!! It was an amazing feeling to be part of that! Here some of us are:

The best part of the party was yet to come for me though! They had a grand prize draw and I won!!!! Wooo HOOO! I won this:

Holy Hannah, that's right, I won a Big Shot and a snowflake spellbinder donated by Jessie from Cherish the Thought. If you are ever in the area, go by her store. It totally rocks and is full of very unique stuff to use in your crafting! I was so shocked at first I wasn't sure if I'd actually heard my name or not! (you know when you are wishing for something so badly that you think you were willing them to call your name LOL) Then when Hayley started screaming I knew it was me and I screamed like a little girl! I ran up there like I'd won Ms. America and even cried! LOL!!! I don't have any die cut system so this was very big to me!

My luck didn't stop there either! I won a $20 gift certificate from Discovery Toys (actually Sue traded me for it - she got my t-shirt) and big basket of goodies from Mary Kay. I even like the tin the Mary Kay stuff came in! Very cool.

The best part of the weekend was hanging out with my girls and doing something I love! I have loads of pics to show you of the pages I completed but that will have to wait for other posts. Here is a sneak peak of what I worked on!

Confused??? This was my lanyard (it was too boring for me). So I put a little something on it after I completed each page. I had such a good time I already booked my room for next year (and so did everyone else, the hotel sold out before we all left on Sunday)!!! Now that is one awesome event!!!

PS. I want to send out a SUPER DUPER DELUXE CONGRATS to my brother and his wife! They are expecting their first BABY!!!!! Woo Hoo!!

What comes around...

..goes around. (or something like that)

The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me, especially for you. I am going to get something from Diane - go check out her blog, she's super scrappy!

This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:

1- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make but I hope you will. (and if you don't, don't tell me LOL)
2- What I create will be just for you.
3-They say I have a year to get it to you. But I promise it will NOT take that long. (heck, I'm so anal you'll probably get it before xmas!)
4- You have no clue what it's going to be. It’s a surprise to both of us at this point.

The catch? You must re-post this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog. So the first five people who post, and are willing to pass it along, will get a handmade gift in the mail from me. When you get it, make sure you post a pic on your blog!

Picture of the Day

I recently made these fimo buttons (not what you will get from me) and they were lots of work. That clay, even the soft, is super tough to work with. I eventually wrestled it into shape. LOL! Think I'll just buy my buttons next time :D

Going, going.....

....gone! For the weekend anyway! I will be gone all weekend at a Crop to raise money for the B.C. Children's Hospital! It's my first retreat and I plan on getting TONS done (but we all know what happens to the best made plans LOL) So I won't be bloggin at all but I will be thinkin about ya'll!

Picture of the Day

Yup, that's a hockey bag and no one in our house plays hockey! Of course it is for scrapbooking LOL! Don't you do that with everything now? Say to yourself, "Self, how can we use this for scrapbooking?" I do it all the time. Stuck at Home Depot - "I'm sure I can find something to put on my scrapbooks - back in a few honey!" Even the grocery store and dollar store can conjure up some good finds. Where is the weirdest place you've found stuff to use in crafting?

PS - can you guess what I am making?

Well Documented Lives

My mom made me a baby book and took lots of pictures of us when we were kids but today, with all the modern technology we have so much more to work with when documenting our lives. I made duplicate pages for Serenity and Rayna, which I don't do very often.

I have a leather bound journal that I keep for each girl where I record their milestones, stories and quotes and it is fun to look back through at some of the things I have already forgotten. It's even funnier when I come across the same story twice LOL!

The picture is of my old camera before I went digital (thanks Snuffy)! Now I can take even more pictures and actually tell if they turned out right away! Project 365 has me recording lots of our everyday lives as a family. I also have a video camera and, most recently, started this blog! They are definitely going to have well documented lives!
Picture of the Day
I finally had a chance to finish stamping the day of the week and date on each of my Project 365 journalling cards. I decided December should all be red cards. I can't believe how much work this project has been and how much I have enjoyed it!

PS - It's my mom's birthday today - Happy Birthday MOM!!

Barefoot Princess

These are super recent photos of Rayna in her Princess Beauty dress and her kitty dressed up to match! Serenity keeps saying, "but she's not looking mom," because I am always behind the camera saying, "look at mama." LOL

This is my first tissue paper flower - I like it! I sprayed it with pearl glimmer mist and that makes it pop!

We went to the pumpkin patch this week - here are a few pics:

Have you been to the patch yet? What is your fave Oct activity?

He is my Sunshine!

Scroll down if you are looking for the Halloween blog party from A Fanciful Twist! (see sidebar) or Red Writing's TWOC (see sidebar)

Yup, I totally love my Hubby! Sappy but true! Yes, we drive each other crazy sometimes (or we'd be BO-RING). But I am grateful for him! We just had our 6th Anniversary!
Do you like my stitching? Took For-ev-er! If you are looking at the pic and thinking "what the fudge?" keep reading, all will be explained! LOL Sorry the pics are a bit dark but it's night time and the flash leaves a huge glare.
Now, don't laugh too hard but as some of you know he prefers to remain "Snuffleupagus" as far as my blog is concerned so the beautiful picture of him at sunset is camoflauged! LOL
I love you Snuffy and always will!!!!!!!

TWOC #3 - Crafts

Week #3 - Christmas Crafts (for the 12 weeks of Christmas party at Red Writing's) These are some of the crafts we made last year with Sticks! HEY, my kids were 2 & 3, we needed uncomplicated LOL!

Dontcha just love the creative eye placement? LOL!
Their fave part of most was putting on the glitter. Oh we found glitter everywhere for a few weeks!
The girls made these to give as little gifts to their uncles and aunts!

My brother and SIL - congrats to you both on your very special day!
Fire!!! How cool is this fire? It looks like a fish to me!

Halloween blog party

First, let me welcome you to the Halloween Blog Party with a button Boo-quet!

Second: One of my nightmares LOL!

I used different thickness levels for my pop dots to get the layered/broken effect. I also left an intact van picture on the bottom so different colors would show through the cracks!

Third, If there is anything I would say I don't like about Halloween it would have to be the spiders! I am seriously Arachnophobic! I will probably do lots of shrieking when looking at all the different blog party entries LOL!
Even the spider brad freaks me out a bit! Did you know you could buy sewed sequins at fabric stores? I love how the black ones look and they cover up the line between my paper and my pleats!

Fourth: Check out a mom's worst nightmare below: WARNING - gross pics below! Click on them to enlarge.....if you DARE!

Fifth: A kid's worst nightmare happened to me one Halloween. I actually got grounded for Halloween!!!!!! BOOOOO! HISSSSS! Now, no one remembers what I did but we all agree that the punishment did NOT fit the crime (what could I have possibly done???) However, my big sister took an extra pillow case out for me and pled my case to all the neighbors. They all felt so sorry for me that I got more candy than she did!

Little did they know that I wasn't gonna get stuck without any candy! I was left at home to hand out candy and every time there was a lull in the crowd I'd grab a handful and go up into my room and hide it LOL! Super Score!!!

Sixth: I am giving away a RAK to anyone who becomes a follower (or already is one) and leaves a comment today! Tell me about your best costume or about a great Halloween memory! I'll pick the winner on Halloween (giving everyone plenty of time to enter)!

Traditions - TWOC week 2

This post is for TWO blog parties! One is at Emma Calls me Mama and the other is at Red Writing's blog. If you want to hit either of the other parties then click on the buttons on my sidebar (and come back tomorrow for a Halloween blog party!) YUP, I'm just a party girl!

This week it is all about our Traditions! Here are a few of ours:
1. Open one gift on Christmas Eve
2. Buy a new ornament that represents something we have done during the year. These are last year's ornaments:

I have made an 8x8 album of all these ornaments (and a few others) that I just add a page to each year so that when I'm long gone the girls will know which ornaments are special and why! This year we are going to Disneyland to get one again! Hopefully they have a nice tree topper that we can purchase too!
3. Go look at the Christmas lights and drink hot chocolate.
4. We write letters to Santa (and he writes back, thank you Canada Post) - and leave him cookies and chocolate milk.

5. Cut down our own tree
6. Watch every Christmas movie we can get our hands on!
7. A treasure hunt. It starts with an envelope on the tree and the clues are hidden all over the house! As they get older it will get harder and when they hit the teen years I'm going to use a compass! This keeps them busy and the 'treasure' is always some candy and something to do (game/book etc).

8. Make Christmas crafts - we are craft crazy! This is the tissue tree we made last year! The girls were 2 and 3 so they got tired of this one about 1/2 way through so I got to finish it LOL!
9. Send Christmas cards - this is last year's card (i made 50 of these paper piecings - phew!)

10. Have a Christmas photo shoot for a picture to put in the cards! This year it was soooo cold but I wanted to see their outfits so I made them take off their coats. I put the camera on burst and shot off as many pics as I could before they started to turn blue! This is one of the outtakes!
I totally bribed them with a candy cane for after the shoot too!

If you want to see more about our traditions you can jump to my previous post about this subject here! There are lots of scrapbook pages to see!
