What's in your purse?

I thought this was a rather funny circle journal topic to choose, so I did!

For those who have never done a circle journal: you get a group of scrappers/artists to agree to do it, each pick a topic and create your own book and rules, and then each month you pass the book in a circle until it comes back to you with pages completed by all the members in the group! This is what was in my purse then...
And a bit of the journalling:
I always make a duplicate page for myself (of other people's topics) and in the end I have an album all about me as well as one all about my friends!  These are so fun! What's one weird thing in your purse?

Rayna's got a story

Here is the picture she drew me while i was blogging:

Here is her story to go with it: "2 Dudes walking until they bumped into some peanut butter and got stuck.  And then they tried to get the goo.  And then they bumped on their bums and saw a monster where all of them got eaten!" Gotta love her imagination LOL!

PS - gotta go before Serenity's head spins off, she's DYING for a snack!!

B is for Baby

Well, Skyler is my baby no more - SHE WALKS!!!!  Woo Hoo!

See how proud she is?  Every once in awhile she just stops to clap for herself (and then usually falls down LOL)
(she totally loves livin in a box LOL)
Here are a couple of pages I made for her this year!
Oh the gas she used to pass!
Doesn't she look like Elvis here?
Left, that's just the way she rolled! (never right, totally weird)
This is how she feels about me LOL!!!
Do you have any silly pics of yourself as a kid?

Guilty Pleasures

I've been in a few Circle Journals in the last few years and figured I'd share a few of the pages with ya'll! Now, take a deep breath and DON'T LAUGH! I mean it, NO LAUGHING at my guilty pleasure!
It's J.Lo., that's right, I'm admitting it, right here, right now........she rocks!!!

Stop laughing...........
I love this Basic Grey Wisteria line and think I used every last scrap of it!!! Fess up!  What's your guilty pleasure?

Like I need another Project....

Well, Project 365 is finally done! Phew, that was hard work!!!

However, it was soooo worth it!  I have a totally cool snapshot of a year in our lives (which also happened to be Skyler's first year of life)!  This Project included all the funny, weird, exciting and mundane things in our lives.

When I decided to do it I made a vow that I would do it again in 10 years so that we could compare our lives a decade later!  Sooooo, I ordered Project Life and forgot about it.............till it came in the mail.................and is uber cool................and i got inspired.......................
.............and i decided to go for it and do it again!  (I'm sure hoping Becky comes up with another Project next year!!!) LOL

But I've decided that this Project is gonna be much more casual.  A week's worth of photo spots might be all of one event!  Or I might decide to focus on one person and take lots of different pictures of them ....or whatever!!  Way less pressure on myself!  So wish me luck............like I need another Project LOL!!!

Flower Girls

There is nothing funnier than going to a wedding and seeing the flower girls totally mess up!  Except maybe when they are your own kids!

Serenity and Rayna were the flower girls in my brother's wedding and they were super excited to be in it - even if they didn't have any idea what to do!
My first rose flower (google paper rose tutorial and you can learn how to make them).  They are so pretty but a pain to make and then when i was done it stood up at least an inch off the page so i hacked at the back of it till i got it a bit shorter! LOL  Next time i'll try to do it a little differently.  Anyone know any good tricks?

This is what the girls did:
Guess I shouldn't have told Serenity she could take her shoes off after she'd walked down the aisle LOL!  Kids are so literal! I know lots of readers have said that they admire my hand writing but this is my real handwriting.  What everyone has admired is CK Ali's writing Font that I got for free from CK once upon a time and adopted for my own! LOL  It lends continuity to my scrapbook pages in a very subtle way because I use it for almost all my journalling. Do you have a fave font?  An funny wedding story?  Let's hear it!

A is for Apple

It's a 26 week party!  Yup, that's right, 26 letters in the alphabet = 26 weeks to party!  If you want to see what all the fuss is about click on the link on my sidebar and go see Jenny!  A is for Apple - poisoned kind!  (I got mine at Michaels)

I think of this as the Twilight pose!
This is the William Tell pose!
Isn't Serenity just the cutest Snow White EVER!!!  She can't wait for Halloween next year!
My sister bought these cutie shoes to go with the dresses.  Such sweet feet, even if the shoes are on the wrong feet!
If you were a Disney Princess which one would you want to be?  I'd be Belle, she reads a lot!!!

Burritos

"Make me a Rito-a-Rito mama" "Ok baby, Burrito it is"

I really wanted to capture this weird phase the girls went through of constantly asking me to make them into Burritos with the blankets!  Then they'd giggle like crazy and try to get out.  I'd jokingly ask them where they'd gone and tell them they were "just heads" so they'd try like mad to show me a hand or foot to assure me that they had other parts LOL!
I thought the paper rolling was totally appropriate for this page!  Love my sweet girls but am so glad to no longer have the ugly couch they are sitting on LOL! This totally reminds me of the Snuggie - why can't people just wear sweaters or robes instead of the huge ugly muumuu blanket LOL!  The Snuggie totally cracks me up!!! Would you use a Snuggie?

Can you hear me now???

Do your kids ever ignore you even though you are standing right in front of them? Do you wonder if they should have their hearing checked?

Well then try this technique:
When I saw the Hambly tree rub ons I immediately thought of the commercial "can you hear me now?" where they show the amount of reception bars by using buildings and such! Do you ever pretend you don't hear when someone is talking to you?

Wedding Mini

It's my brother's birthday and it got me thinking about him and how he recently moved very far away and we all miss him! I did this Mini album of some of my brother's wedding pics (he was married civilly and then religiously) and gave it to him and my SIL for Christmas!

Lots of bling and ribbon!
Loving the rubons and Maya Road journalling cards.
Dymo was perfect for this black/white/red scheme!
Love their matching umbrellas and peacoats!
Love the turned up collar Bro!
How great are these pics?
Rubons with bling on top and doodling around the edges of the white pages!
Beautiful couple!
Aren't they sweet together?
Romantic pics!
Love the Heidi Swapp ghost heart frame and used the inside of it for the next page!
Love how the ribbon and bow span both pages and make the present look great!
Love this goofy shot!
And the wandering off into their future! I don't do mini's very often so I hope you liked it. See, they love it!
Do you do lots of mini's?  Do you give them as gifts? I don't do lots of mini's because I don't like people putting their grubby fingers all over the pages I create LOL!  I prefer my pages behind plastic!

Dress Decor

Skyler recently got her own room and I didn't have anything for her walls.  Well, I had Disney villains posters but those probably aren't conducive to sweet baby dreams (they totally work for the playroom though) LOL! So I made her these:
I got the idea from the EAD Designs blog (they have awesome vinyl) but I thought, "hey, I can make that."
So i made the silhouettes on white paper and then traced them on the black and embellished with ribbon, flowers, brads and tulle.
Do you like my wire stands?
Now Serenity is pestering me to make some for her room! Do you make home decor from your scrap supplies (this is my first time)?  What is your most fave project you've done?

Princess Rayna

This is the first time I ever worked with tulle on a LO and i like how it turned out even if it was a lot of work! LOL!
The tulle flower came together quickly (cut uneven circles in layers and sew a button on - easy peasy) but the tulle skirt was a pain!  Hard to gather and then sew down on the LO!  No clue how to make this any easier!  The title of this LO is Princess Kitty because that was the theme of Rayna's birthday party!
Speaking of Princesses.....

Did you know that their is a Princess Leia hat?  It's called the Cinnabuns and Callista is sending it all over North America for people to wear and then post the pics on her blog!  Well, I sent her the pics of my girls in November but forgot to share them with ya'll!  Plus, my mom and sis agreed to let me post their pics too!  If you want the Cinnabuns go to Callista's blog and get on her list!

Here are some pics:
Serenity Leia
Rayna Leia - do you love the costume I made for them with a pillow case and a bath robe tie??
Skyler Leia
Diva Dog Leia
Sister Leia
Nana Leia (she was half dressed in her pirate costume that's why she has a dirty face LOL) Are you a Princess?  Do you want to be?  If so, what kind?
