I am basically an indoor girl. I think camping sucks (the bugs live outside you know) and i don't like getting rain on my face (and it rains here all the time so i have lots of umbrellas).
Sooooo when I looked outside and saw rain today I thought, "guess we're not going to cut down our own tree this year." I was mistaken.........and I got a lecture on it!
Apparently a tradition is a TRADITION and it doesn't matter the weather, rain, snow, sleet or hail (since when are we the post office Snuffy???)! So we went and had a hoot!
Then the girls got to their favourite part - the hot chocolate (and candy canes)! They looked so cute blowing the heat off of it!
I also had a brilliant idea on the way home! To set up the tree in our downstairs playroom instead of upstairs where Skyler will be at it constantly and drive me totally mad before Christmas (prompting me to throw the tree out the 2nd story window, ornies and all!) I am a GENIUS!!! (and clearly don't have a problem with self esteem! LOL)
So now it is finally starting to smell and look like Christmas around here!

PS - i think for Christmas I might just get my den built downstairs as Snuffy has been at it most of the day - wooo hooo!
What are you hoping for this Christmas???

Looks like fun, I miss those days with the girls!
Awwwe...it was worth braving the elements just for the photos alone! Good luck with your den...go Snuffy...go!
Love and hugs,
Karyn
I'm an indoor girl too...and even this looks fun to me :)
too cute, the girls with their hot chocolate and the pic of them all bundled up in their snow suits!
For Christmas? I am hoping for more time to create. LOL! I wish!
What fabulous photos of the girls Carrie!! Glad you battled the rain and didn't break tradition. How could you even consider it?! lol Super idea to have the tree downstairs too. You'll keep your sanity for sure that way. I'm with you on that one! With my "controlling" tendencies it took every ounce of self control not to reorganize some of the decorations on our tree this year. lol
Adorable post Carrie! Love the pics with the hot chocolates! So glad you found the perfect tree and spot to place it. Merry Christmas to and your sweet family! :)
That hot chocolate looks so yummy!!!!
Great photos!!!!
I am with Snuffy on this one. Tradition is TRADITION, every year not just when we feel like it! :) I am so proud of you all for braving the weather. Yeah for the den! We are rooting for you.
What a wonderful tradition! Beth
Oh those are precious, precious children. I'm glad you went.
Adorable pics! Those girls look so much fun! :D
Your gals must be the happiest kids in the world...they always seem to have fun!
I'm a totally indoor person...I hate being in the sun (bummer where I live)...LOL
Great tradition! glad you got your tree, even if it was raining ;)
It looks like so much fun, I love the pictures :)
Oh, this is easily one of the cutest things I've seen in ages!
Looks like great fun , your girls are so cute !
Christmas Blessings,
~Myrna
well thank goodness someone gave you a lecture ... looks like you might have even had some fun! and now you have some wonderful pics to scrap!
I'm not outdoorsy either--I'd rather just hybernate until April! But it looks like you had a great time!
For Christmas, I'd like a few conveniences around here. After months of alternating between my cheap one-cup coffee maker that makes the coldest, nastiest cup of coffee you've ever tasted, and my husband's confusing espresso machine that takes half a day to heat up, I ran to Zellers to get the tassimo machine, which was on for $70 off. Of course, they were out of stock and I had to get a raincheck. My last Zellers raincheck took 12 weeks to fill, so I'm not holding my breath!!
Happy holidays!!
Fabulous photos - yeah for the tree hunt! Apparently, I am like snuffy, I am the only one in my family who seemed to enjoy it this year! They could have easily skipped it, but not me!
I am in dire need of new slippers - my right big toe is sticking out of my old ones as we speak. I wear these things like everyday so they are SCARY! please Santa, I need new slippers.....
You crack me up by the way....you are indeed a genious, keeping the tree at least most of the time out of reach of the vampire babe! You go girl!
Merry Ho Ho,
See ya after the big day,
Shanna in Canada :)
