Just a Big Kid

I did this page for a circle journal called, "I'm just a big kid." You were supposed to tell something that you do that makes you a big kid!

I loooove to jump out and yell BOO and scare people. We do it all the time around here and it never fails to give us a laugh! My whole family does this! Once, my brother snuck out of the house and jumped out at my mom when she got out of her car! She totally freaked (poor mom) LOL! What do you do just like when you were a kid?

Advice Please

Ok, so i need some advice on how to get Serenity excited about going to Kindergarden in the Fall. This week she cried and cried and said that she didn't want anyone to come to her birthday party because then she would be 5 and have to go to school!!!!  Broke my heart! I explained that it was very far away and that we would go to see the Kindergarden soon (in May they have an open house) but she said she doesn't want to leave Rayna and I (poor Skyler was left out)! Look how cute she is:

Please help!

Lies your Mother told you

This is the topic of Jo's circle journal - she loved that title!  However, she goes on to say that her mom only told her the normal lies (watermelon will grow in your tummy if you swallow that seed, etc) and that her mom is actually wonderful. This page is about my mom and how she used to throw our toys into toy jail! LOL

(click on the picture to make it bigger if you want to read this in more detail)
Did your mom ever do anything unusual to discipline you?

J is for...

I am participating in Jenny's Alphabe-Thursday! J is for all Jacked up!  Serenity said this last Halloween and totally cracked me up!

Since Easter is coming and the candy is gonna come again, it made me think of this page I completed in the Fall (some of you may remember it)!  What's your fave candy?  I love strawberry twizzlers and Reese peanut butter cups (and they made easter eggs too)!

What's UP??

Here are some random things that have been up with us: 1. We've been sick.  Proof:

(Rayna NEVER falls asleep during the day)

2. I went to see Alice (which is where I think I caught this cold) in 3D!  It was a good movie but the 3D made me a bit queasy!
Best part: Alice is walking towards a cloud of smoke to the caterpillar and the (obviously stoned) guy next to me says "Coooool, I'm Home!!!"  LOL

3. Skyler thinks she is Linus from the Peanuts cartoon and is carrying her blanket with her everywhere!  So cute when she puts it over her shoulders like a cape!
4. I bribed the girls to stay in bed the other night by buying them stuffed kitties!  Everyone knows that I loathe stuffed animals so I was clearly desperate!
5. To keep the girls busy I got out the old baby bathtub so that they could give their new kitties a "bath"!  Skyler freaked out until we gave it to her!  She's been sitting in it most of the day!
6. I wanted to let the girls paint but they usually paint so rough they go through the paper and make a big mess!   I then had the genius idea to let them paint on the cardboard back to their huge coloring books.  I bet flattened cereal boxes would work good too!
Yes, they are in their jammies in the middle of the day - they're sick!

7. I took a picture of our everyday shoes for my Project Life again!  Loooove the little denim cuties Skyler is wearing right now!
8. I jumped in Snuffy's van the other day only to see this:
It brought to mind the saying: "Friends help you move, True Friends help you move bodies!" LOL What's up with you?

I is for "If I ruled the World..."

I is for "If I ruled the World".  Yup, another circle journal (this was my topic)!  I am playing along with Jenny's Alphabe-Thursday!

I loooove liquid pearls!
Clearly this was a bit tongue in cheek!
What would you do if you ruled the world?

Speaking of hair...

I've been in a bit of a funk for awhile now.  Maybe it's the winter blahs but i prefer to think of it as a case of the mean reds (a la Breakfast at Tiffany's).

Sooooo, I decided to do something drastic to make me feel better........................and I cut 3 inches off my hair.............
............and Snuffy never even noticed!!!!! WHAT???  Not drastic enough, ok, let's take it to the next level and buy some hair dye! This is what I bought:
Hey, I've used this color before!  However, this is what I got:
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!  Total nightmare - strawberry blonde and patchy as hell!  Where did I go wrong?????

Skyler said, "WOW" but that's her fave word right now so that wasn't a surprise!

Rayna said, "now you're yellow like me mommy" and seemed pleased.

Serenity said, "can you change it back tomorrow?"  (nope, sorry, I have to wait 3 days so my hair doesn't just fall out!!!)

Snuffy came home and said, "WHOAH" .......and not in a 'whoah, i-got-myself-a-sexy-new-wife' but in a 'whoah, that-looks-awful-and-i-am-screwed-no-matter-what-i-say' way!!!! It totally made me cry (and i'm not a hair drama queen)!!! So this is what I bought to fix it:
Thank goodness it fixed it!  So the moral of the story is: beware, when you have the mean reds (and a possible fever from being sick)..............STOP.....................do NOT under any circumstances decide to dye your hair!  Have you ever done anything really bad to your hair???

H is for Haircut

I am participating in Jenny's Alphabe-Thursday!  Isn't it every mom's nightmare that the kids will get the scissors and cut their own hair?

Well, I gave her the scissors!  Oooops!  She was soooo good, cutting only paper, until she wasn't! Reminds me of the poem:

There was a little girl with a little curl right in the middle of her forehead.
When she was good, she was very very good,
But when she was bad she was horrid!

I found these locks under her chair and when I asked her why she cut it she said: "too many curls in the way"
This is where she gave herself a bald spot!  Oh well, it could be worse, she could have cut her bangs!  This i can cover up! What's the worst thing you did to yourself as a kid?

I'm not in LONDON!!!

YIKES, someone coopted my email addy and sent out an email saying that i was in London (i wish) and had been mugged so i had no money and to send me some!

PUUUULLEEEZZZEEE!!!!  If I EVER get stranded somewhere I will CALL to ask for money LOL!!!!!

Anywho, I am gonna close that email account down and try to get a new email addy elsewhere!  How does this even happen? I am sick as a dog with 2 sick kids to care for (and one clingy one who I am sure will be raging sick later) so I am gonna sign off and say: Sorry for the Spam if you got it from me!!! Here's hoping you are having a better day than I am!!

PS - Here's some cuteness (because I can never do a post without a picture)!

Fly by the Seat of your Pants

What are you doing on any given Saturday?  Do you have a routine?  Those were some of the questions posed by Rae's circle journal and this was my response:

We fly by the seat of our pants.  We have no set plans but love to get outside!
I used some leftover denim from when I turned a pair of pants into shorts to make the pocket and die cut a few doves for the wings.  I ruthlessly cut the wings off the bird to use on my page LOL!  So fun to use fabric on pages, wish I had more of it!  I swear i'm gonna start cutting up some old baby clothes LOL! Do you use fabric in unusual ways?  What are your Saturday's like?

Song Puzzle

For one of the circle journals I have to represent song lyrics on a scrapbook page.  The example Tammy gave was the song "These are a few of my favourite things" from the Sound of Music! She had a picture of raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens. This is my page:

Can you guess the title of the song?  Hint: It's a Country song.  I got quite a kick out of doing this page but couldn't find paper dolls in any store (luckily my LSS had die cuts).  Half the clerks looked at me like I was crazy.  I got lots of, "what's a paper doll?"  Did you play with paper dolls as a kid?

G is for Gingerbread

I am playing along with Jenny's Alphabe-Thursday. We made a Gingerbread House for the first time this year and mostly the girls wanted to eat the candy and icing!  We should have listened to the directions and let the icing set before allowing them to decorate because the roof kept sliding open and candy kept falling inside!

Serenity kept going back to steal finger tips full of icing, making more fall off the house!  Poor sad little house! Rayna put 2 or 3 candies in her mouth for every one that made it onto the house. They didn't quite understand why we wouldn't let them eat it immediately after it was decorated! LOL

I created this gingerbread house by cutting up a 6x6 piece of chipboard!  4x5 for the house, 2x6 for the roof and a left over piece for the chimney!  Love putting the snow on the roof and stitching the smoke from the chimney!
Do you like to eat gingerbread?  I don't, but it does smell good!
