This is the topic of Jo's circle journal - she loved that title! However, she goes on to say that her mom only told her the normal lies (watermelon will grow in your tummy if you swallow that seed, etcetera) and that her mom is actually wonderful.

I struggled with this page because BG Nook and Pantry paper is not my fave (pretty but not for me). However, I think it has a 1970's vibe that really goes with the picture of me and my mom!
Did your mom ever do anything unusual to discipline you?

Great layout! LOve the concept of "toy jail," I am so trying this with my boys!
My Mom - the thing I remember most is if we were out somewhere and weren't behaving quite as we should, she would give us a good squeeze of the hand and that was warning enough for us to shape up. The other thing I'll never forget, though it wasn't really punishement, is she was a big believer in fresh air - she would insist on us getting outside and "blow the stink off you!" Yes, I'm from the country, where we would play out for hours at a time and often be greeted with hot choc and cookies when we came back in. I think sending us out often was how Ma survived -there we four of use quite close together and my Dad worked shifts in the winter time.
